At Capitol Scientific, we regularly update the pricing listed on our website, and these prices are subject to change without prior notice. The prices shown represent current U.S. pricing. The final prices charged will be those quoted and accepted at the time of order processing. Additionally, please note that product specifications may change without notice due to enhancements or alterations made by manufacturers.

Use of Products and Shelf Life of Chemicals

Capitol Scientific disclaims any warranties or guarantees, whether expressed or implied, regarding the specific applications of the products we offer. The shelf life of any chemicals sold can only be assured by the respective manufacturer of those products. For chemicals that possess a defined shelf life, the valid expiration date will be indicated on the product's outer packaging, which will typically include a lot number for reference.

Precursor Chemical Laboratory Apparatus

As a distributor of chemicals and laboratory equipment in the state of Texas, we are required to adhere to the regulations set forth in the Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Title 37, Part I, Chapter 13, Subchapter B, concerning Precursors and Apparatus.

Please note that any customer placing an online order for precursor chemical laboratory apparatus will be contacted prior to the processing of the order informing you that this purchase will be reported to the state of Texas

Minimum Order Requirement

There is a $10 Order Processing Fee, which will be waived on any order over $150.

Payment Terms

Established Credit Accounts/Customers
Certain customers are granted Net credit terms by Capitol Scientific. Payment must be submitted on or before the “Payment Due Date” stated on the invoice.

To apply for Net credit terms please download, complete, and submit our CREDIT APPLICATION via email to . If your company is tax-exempt, include a copy of any relevant Sales Tax Exemption Certificates, which must display the full legal company name, EIN, and the signature of an authorized officer with financial responsibility.

The payment terms on your order shall govern your transaction. These payment terms supersede any terms stated on your Purchase Order or maintained in your internal systems. By placing an order with Capitol Scientific, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to the payment terms outlined herein.

Accepted Payment Methods
We accept all major U.S. credit cards, checks, ACH Payments, and Wire Transfers. We do not accept international credit cards or P-Cards. For all payments made by international wire transfer, a fee will be applied to your order. Capitol Scientific does not process credit cards manually and does not store payment information. All credit card payments must be made using a provided payment link.

Notice for Credit Card Orders.
If your company does not have net credit terms approved and established with us, you will receive a payment link to complete your order. Your order will not ship until payment has been received in full.

New Accounts

As a new customer, you will need to provide the following:

  • A current W-9 (Rev. March 2024)
  • Sales Tax Exemption Certificate, if applicable
  • A business address registered with your company.
    Note: we do not ship to residential addresses under any circumstances.
  • A valid company email domain.

Return Policy

As a standard policy, Capitol Scientific does not accept returns unless the product was sent in error or arrived defective or damaged, in which case, you may request a return within 15 days of the ship date. You will need photographs to support your claim.

  • Made-to-Order materials will not be approved for return, unless Capitol Scientific or one of its vendors shipped a product other than what was ordered.
  • Hazardous materials authorized for return must be packed, labeled, and shipped in accordance with DOT regulations governing transportation of hazardous material and any other applicable requirements.

In the event that you, the customer, ordered the product in error, your return request may be exempt from the policy on a case-by-case basis. Your order will be subject to a 25% restocking charge plus any applicable charges for necessary inspection, reworking, or refurbishing.

To submit your return request, please email including your order number and the reason for return. As a reminder, if you ordered the wrong product or made a mistake in ordering, Capitol Scientific reserves the right not to deny your return request.

Order Cancellation

Customers may request an order cancellation prior to the order shipping from its point of origin. Made-To-Order items may not be cancelled for any reason whatsoever. A cancellation cannot be requested once an order has been shipped. Cancellation requests are not guaranteed by all manufacturers.

Shipment Charges

Shipping charges are determined based upon your desired shipping method. By law, hazmat fees will be added to your order for all hazardous chemicals and related laboratory products. If required, we may alter your shipping method. We will notify you should we need to make a change to your shipping method to accommodate product requirements.

Shipment Claims

  • Please inspect all shipments upon receipt. If damage has occurred, please keep the packaging and all of the packing materials.
  • If a shipment is billed to the customer account, the customer should initiate the claim with the respective carrier.
  • If your order has shipped via Capitol Scientific’s account aka Prepaid & Add, please contact our Customer Service Department at and include your tracking and order number.
    o Please take and include photos of the damaged goods.

All claims should be submitted within 15 days of delivery.

Warranty Policy

All orders are subject to the standard commercial warranty terms of the relevant manufacturer in effect at the time the order is placed. These warranty terms will be made available to you to the fullest extent if requested possible through Capitol Scientific. We warrant only that the products delivered will substantially conform to the descriptions provided by the manufacturer.
WE MAKE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Your exclusive remedy against Capitol Scientific and any suppliers for products that are proven to be defective or nonconforming is limited to the replacement of such products at no charge or a refund of the purchase price, provided the defective product is returned in accordance with our instructions prior to acceptance.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CAPITOL SCIENTIFIC, ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OR ANY SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY IN TORT, OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND) FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS), EVEN IF WE OR ANY OF OUR SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OR SUPPLIERS HAD NOTICE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IF WE DELIVER MADE-TO-ORDER PRODUCTS BASED ON INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, OR OTHER DIRECTIONS YOU PROVIDE, CAPITOL SCIENTIFIC, ALONG WITH ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR THE INSUFFICIENCY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR QUALITY OF THE GOODS THAT CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO SUCH INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, OR OTHER DIRECTIONS.
